Vmware Pcpu/ Vcpu question

Hello,

I have a question regarding Physical Cpu to Virtual Cpu.  IF I have 4 Physical Cpu,  how many VCpus can be created in ESX host?
Is there a limit?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

limits are based on

1. licenses
2. vCPUs in total you have, based on number of physical cpus x cores x hyperthreading (2).
3. what is supported and licensed in the guest OS

and based on maximums for vSphere 6.0
