Exchange 2013 question, can phone numbers be attached to contacts?

The goal is to have phone info available on mobile devices by default so if there's a GAL/OAB entry for a particular employee in the phone, there's also a phone number.  Currently we have a bunch of contact cards in our public folder which must be mass copied and pasted into each users contact folder manually.  This is not an ideal process.  Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If the mobile phone is configured to sync mails with Exchange Server thru ActiveSync, then users could search for contacts in phone and this search will also list contacts from GAL in Exchange Server. The phone numbers of GAL contacts too will be visible in phone.

Please check in one of the phones configured to sync with Exchange Server to see if you already see the contacts in GAL with phone numbers.
