Trying to find the name of an old mid 1990's computer app/game????

I am trying to remember the name of an old mid 1990's computer app/game that usually came bundled with most new computer purchases back then running a 286 AT processor and probably a 20mb hdd ... LOL.

The app/game was very graphical for its time and kind of like a mechanical engineering program that contained tons of gadgets, wheels, shapes and various other components that you could build stuff with.  Almost like an electronic Lego.  Kids used to love this game and we were talking about it a few days ago.  I just can't seem to remember the name ... Any help will be appreciated.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

We had one from that era that was called "The Incredible Machine".

What's unclear from your description is whether the game/app was more centered around building things vs making crazy Rube Goldberg-type contraptions.
