Export LDIF OU structure and import into fake AD

I've been automating AD for many years now, and have never (yet) taken the time to figure out the easiest way to

1) Export a live OU structure from AD (say, contoso.local) and
2) Import that OU structure into a dev AD (contoso.fake)

for the purposes of developing logic without muckin' up the live environment.

I've tried using Apache Directory Studio to export the structure as LDIF and then do the same as in import to the fake AD, but it fails with a non-descriptive error.

Any assistance/guidance you can provide me will be greatly appreciated!

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

For the heck of it I tried both in my dev environment. Both work just great but I found the first one was easier. Thank you!!
