Convert website to WordPress

Hi WordPress Experts,

I would like to convert this site:
    http://urlgone.com/3291af/     (Please allow about 10 secs to be redirected to the actual site)
with it's existing design, to WordPress, on a $0 budget.

Some of the main requirements are:
- Vertical menus on left,
- Menus and main content show on top of the graphic background,
- Responsive,
You can probably see the other things for yourself.

Can anyone please recommend a free theme which would contain the required elements?
Failing that, a free one which would do it with a few tweaks (e.g. CSS).

I tried going here:
    https://wordpress.org/themes/
filling in some filter conditions, but I don't have the understanding to know which of the listed themes would work for this site, and I haven't yet spotted any with vertical menus.

(I might also post this question at another help site.)

Thanks.

Thanks for all your tips, guys!

lenamtl (and anyone else),
I'd like to try your suggested online converter first.  Can you suggest any easy way for me to ZIP the website I'm dealing with (which is currently hosted with Bloomtools - a proprietary CMS company)?  I don't have access to login to Bloomtools, but I may be able to get that if needed, but I don't know if they have an export facility, from which I could ZIP the site.  If I really have to get the whole site to somewhere I can ZIP it, then I'm not sure of an easy way to do that.  I know many browsers allow the saving of individual pages.  Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi,

for http://htmltowordpress.io/

They didn't have any documentation yet, I have contact them and one thing I'm sure is it's not working with php file so your zip file must contain html file to work.

You can contact them for more instruction.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to y'all.

@Dan,
I know the Poet them was just an example, but I tried installing it.  The demo just has a 1 level menu, and I don't know how to tell if it can handle 2 level menus.  Any ideas what would be involved in making it work with 2 level menus?

@lenamtl,
Unfortunately, when I zip the result of a successful run of HTTrack, I get an error uploading it to htmltowordpress.io, but that's probably not the fault of httrack.  The message is:
    "Oh noes, something went wrong.
    Server responded with 0 code.
    If the problem persists, please let us know!
    Please try again..."
Not very useful, eh?
Yes, I had tried contacting them about issues with 2 level menus about a week ago, but never heard back.  (Not good for a company which is trying to create a good reputation.)  But I asked again yesterday and got this response:
"Yes we convert 2 level menus, but that menu/navbar has been created in a slightly weird way. You could try converting the menu into <ul><li></li></ul> structure and try converting again.
We'll be moving into a paid product next week so we have enough resources to fully debug these for users when errors occur. If you can't get it working, you can send it to us as a .zip file and we'll get everything working for you for $49."
So I'm not sure whether that means people need to pay them to use their system starting next week, or if they just pay for support.
Regarding getting a paid theme from ThemeForest, how do I know the theme I get will work for my site with no (or minimal) hacks?  I'm not just after a nice visual, I'm after the same (or close to the same) visual that the old site has.

@William,
Thanks very much for that httrack suggestion!  Seems to download sites well.  I'm trying the portable version (i.e. no "install" as such).  I guessed that it should be started by opening the "WinHTTrack.exe" file.  Initially I was getting an error "HTTrack has detected that the current mirror is empty...", but for some reason that seems to have stopped happening, now.  Have you had that error, William?  Did you work out the cause?  I've seen some others on the web had the same problem, but the solution seems unclear.  Anyway, it's not a problem for me at the moment.

Thanks.

Hi all,

Sorry for the long delay in awarding points for this.

Unfortunately the htmltowordpress.io option worked out to be a big waste of time in my case.  A lot of the time it would just give the unspecific "Oh noes, something went wrong..." error during conversion, but when it did work the result was a bit of a mess for editing purposes.  When I raised this with the company, they said they couldn't handle tables, which may have explained part of it.  It looks as if they are improving the converter, and they have now started charging, but I have no reason to believe it's going to work in my case.

I might give up on this particular project at this stage, as I don't currently have the time or passion for it.  But thanks to all of you for your input, which was good to hear.
