if you are looking for a record, surely the easiest way would be to try and PING the record in question and you should get a Yes/No which will tell you whether it exists or not. <br />

well sure, but I was looking more for a search tool that might search the entire DNS for various entries, variations of entries, etc. &nbsp;<br />

basically I'm looking for a DNS search tool to search all of DNS versus using an nslookup, which might or might not return a response depending on how the query is typed and whether or not DNS is configured correctly.

Are there any tools that allow you to search your own internal DNS servers for entries?<br />

I inherited a DNS that's HUGE and more forward lookup zones than you can imagine and when I'm looking for a record, I'm going thru manually. &nbsp;I was hoping I could right click on my dns and do a search, but no luck.<br />

Surely someone has a third party tool for this?<br />
