Automaticaly save Emails to Database

Hello.

I'm looking at a New Project to be build in vb.net that links with Outlook.

Basically I want to know if it is possible (Not how to do it at this stage)

What I need to do is
Type a Email in the vb.net program
When click send it opens a New email in outlook with the receiver and the Body of the email filled in (And the Default email signature)
This needs to insert some ID
When the Email is returned it needs to automatically notify the vb.net program with the ID that was inserted into the Original Email and the New Data from the email (NOT the original email data - Just the New data).
the vb.net program will then insert this data into the SQL Database.
When the email is Replied to then the same needs to happen (The vb.net program needs to insert the details into the Database).

It needs to work simular to a ticket systems that are common these days

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It would also need to store any attachments that were on the Emails.
These could just be saved to a central location and a Link saved in the vb.net program

Bear in mind that outlook has security built in that will stop you from fully automating it from an external app unless you a third party product like that from MAPILabs found https://www.mapilab.com/blog/free-outlook-add-in-avoid-outlook-security-warnings/Here

But apart from that, yes it is all possible.

Thanks

Is it also possible to send Tasks to Outlook
What about sync those Tasks both ways - So both outlook and the vb.net are kept up to date when they are updated in either Outlook or the vb.net program?

We are using a Local Exchange 2010 Server and the Tasks need to sync to the Phones and Tablets.

You can use your VB.Net program to programatically control an instance of outlook and then you can do just about anything you want.  Spend some time googling office automation and outlook.

Microsoft offer a good quick example...
C# app automates Outlook (CSAutomateOutlook)

But most importantly if you want to do things with outlook, Visit Sue Moshers site One of the earlier developers of MS Outlook.
