Do you mean within your desktop (say, MS-Windows operating system) environment, relative to your physical screen dimensions, or within the main application window of the MS-Excel application?

Excel opens (the entire application) where you left it last. It does not have a "save window position" function.

If the worksheets are in Windowed mode, they open roughly where you left them left. Excel tries to move things around when you open multiple spreadsheets.

I keep workbooks maximized within Excel and use the tabs at the bottom to change sheets. I find that more organized.

You can set the application's window coordinates with VBA, triggered by opening the workbook. However, that repositions the whoel Excel window, even if it contains other workbooks.
