I inherited this Monitor cum pc, and am trying to see if I can get it to work.  But I am looking for the manual first, and I cannot get it at HP's site.  Does anyone know anywhere else where I can find the Manuals? thank u.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I looked under Pavillion All in One 23 and found this HP site.

There is an upgrading and servicing guide under the User Guide tab. It shows you how to take it apart.
did you start it up yet?
what happens?

In response to Nobus, I am debating whether to replace the defective HD and purchase a new win 7 Prof OS, i.e. whether it is cost effective versus purchasing a new one off the shelf.  As I am not sure how good this HP Pavillion will perform.  For example, my Lennovo M72e has given me trouble free operations for more than a year, despite myself tinkering with so many softwares, and was also hit by viruses and malwares, but it still survived all these.  Even my OS, win 7 prof 64 bit, could not do a system restore anymore, but still chugged along because of its stability.
I must research the Forums for this HP Pavillion to see what sort of problems other users were under going before making that leap.  thank u so much for all your inputs.

>>  the defective HD   <<  a new disk drive costs about 70$
what happens with this disk ?  does the pc start up with it, and what messages do you get - or screens?  you can take a picture of the screen, and post it here

In response to Nobus, here is what is happening ;
When I booted this pc, I got the following error :
Failing HD SATAO
Failing attribute #05

Failure ID M4G350-0007RP-PXPBIG-60AAA03
Product ID H3LO1AA#ABA
Hard disk 1

Thank u for the costing of the HD, but it looks like I would have to get a PC tech to do it for me, or send it to HP or to a service centre, like Best Buy.  Also it needs a OS, and i would settle for win 7 prof.

Thank u once again for your inputs, it is very much appreciated.

Sending it to a service center or taking it to Best Buy might not be your best option.  Best Buy is notorious for charging outlandish prices for simple services.

Before doing that you are probably better off just buying a new computer.

Swapping a HD is one of the easiest things to do.  There are plenty of instructional videos on YouTube.

Also installing Windows 7 is very easy to do as well.  You don't need to waste money paying somebody to do something that almost anybody can do.

Also, in the question you asked, you were looking for a manual. I posted a link with the manual. Did you find a manual for the computer?

Now, the next Q, is what is the model of the HD that i should get, and any place where I can get it really cheap.  I believe the present one is 1TB.  Thank u and regards.
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
any place where I can get it really cheap  <-- Depends on whether you wish to keep the machine. I get good drives: Hitachi. Western Digital, Seagate and these should all work without issue. Get a 1 TB drive if that is what is in there.
jegajothyretiredAuthor Commented:
thank u John for your response.  Will keep this information for reference. Regards
the error is a  smart error, which can not be overcome, so yes best replace the drive
