Do we need to configure the vlan id when we configure vWLC ?
Hi Expert
I am configuring vWLC in vmware Workstation. I already can access its GUI through service-port interface from my PC, but I cannot access and ping the vWLC through management interface from my PC. I was using different vlan id number to do that through the management interface. but it still can not work. I already confirmed the vmware configuration correctly by other hosts. so I guess there are some issues in vWLC configuration. Anyone can give me some suggestion ? Thank you
Thank you so much for your fast reply. It is a very good link, which talks about vWLC with ESX. but I am only can use vmware workstation now.
You can tag interfaces using a VLAN ID if you configure a trunk on the vNIC.
This is only for ESX, not for vmware workstation, right ? I have not see trunk function in Workstation. You mean trunk function in ESX ?

I appreciate that this is being used in Workstation, but its not a supported platform. The link hopefully explains the requirements and helps you to convert that config to Workstation.
Essentially, set the management to use the service-port NIC in Workstation. The service port isn't essential; the management interface is.
