Office 2011 for Macs - PowerPoint stops to work after IOS upgrade

Hi Eduardo,

I just realized that my local PowerPoint (Mac office 201) stopped working after I’ve installed the updates. Could you please help me fix that at some point, as I do use my PowerPoint quite often.

Thanks,

You may just want to uninstall and reinstall Office. I am running the latest OS X release along with Office 2011 and everything is working fine with PP. Something else you could try before wiping and reloading Office is to make sure that you have all the latest patches for Office.

Exactly what version of the Mac OS are you running? You can find out by pulling down the Apple Menu to About this Mac.

Also, have you updated Powerpoint to the latest version of Office 2011?

If you opt to uninstall, make sure you have the installation files so you can reinstall. You can't download Office 2011 installation files any longer.

You can still download Mac Office 2008 & 2011 from the volume licensing center if you have an account.  You should be able to get Mac Office 2016 too.

Were you able to fix it? We were waiting for a response to the question about which OS and which version of PowerPoint you are running. Another thing to try is trashing your preferences file.

To do that, first quit PowerPoint.
Then go to the User > Library > Preferences folder and find all of the PowerPoint preference files:
 com.microsoft.PowerPoint.plist
 Microsoft PowerPoint.box
Look in the Microsoft folder in the Preferences folder for more.

Put the prefs into the trash.
Empty the trash.
