I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Your sheet has probably been resized and made its way out of view. Try clicking on the Arrange All button on the View tab on the ribbon. Then select Cascade. When it shows up again, click on the maximize button.

It's possible to hide all the columns to create a grey effect such as you describe. Try running this macro
Option Explicit

Sub UnHideColumns()
ActiveSheet.Columns.Hidden = False
End Sub
