Please suggest a UPS

Hi Experts,

I need to buy a rackmountable UPS that can provide a backup of 10 - 15 minutes to the following devices:

3 Netgear GS724TP switches
2 Netgear JFS524 switches
1 Barracuda X200 Firewall
1 Mikrotik routerboard RB201 1UAS-RM
1 HP ProLiant DL160 G6 Server
2 SuperMicro SuperServer 6027R-72RF
1 Adva FSP 150CC Optical networking device

I am trying to use a ups finder tool but i am not sure about its accuracy. What do you suggest i should go for?

I use an APC 750 Smart UPS (floor not rack) and it runs my network (modem, 2 routers and a printer on standby) for about an hour.

Something like this in a rack mount version (it came in a rack mount) will do just fine for you.

I did a rough calculation and you should invest in a 3000 VA UPS and this will accommodate future growth.  Without any additional batteries, you should be able to have a runtime of over 15 minutes.

Recommendation would be to purchase Triipp Lite  SU3000RTXL3U 3000VA UPS or a comparable lone from APC.

I found this one, will this work?
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
Yes. I can run a computer, printer, and all my network on a smaller unit than that. So make sure you need that. It needs 4 batteries, so battery replacement will set you back near $500. Just be sure you need all that.

But yes, it will work. I have use that one in a larger installation.

Along with the networking devices i have 1hp server and 2 supermicro servers with 2 power supplies each. Will it work on a smaller ups?
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
I can run a computer (small servers do not use that much more power), printer, network and laptop computer on 750VA for about a half hour. You are trying to go 15 minutes.

I would think 1500VA would be practical. If your budget will take the 3000VA, it should run the above you posted for about 1/2 hour.

I finally ordered 3000VA Rackmount from APC. Thank you.
