Windows Server 2012 Terminal Server

I've got one server running Hyper-V hosting several VMs. I've got one VM that is a DC and a file server running on that server.

I want to do VDI and have tried to install the roles on the Hyper-V Host Server but that server is not on the domain and I get a "this server must be joined to a domain to install RD services".

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get around this?

Thanks,
David

I don't think 2012 can be an RDS server without being on the domain.  Why don't you want it on the domain?

We have one server and the DC is. VM in that server. It doesn't seem right to join the host server to a DC it's hosting...

Join it.  2012 resolved several issues with the host being a domain member of a VM on it.  At worst, it can't process group policy - just always keep a local admin account handy.
