asked on

where do virtual machines stay by default

Hello Experts,

I am creating a virtual machine in hyper V and I get to the point where it asks me where you to copy or save the virtual machine and by default it is pointed to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-v.
The question is shall I keep it there or shall I choose the cluster storage. I am moving the hard disk location to the clustervolume\harddisks ? Please let me know what is the best practice.

Use default : C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-v.
Do you have a reason not to?

I use C:\Virtual Machines. I do not like using Program Data for generic data. The day has past, but lots of computers in the wild do not even have a Program Data folder.
