Loosing the D volume in Hyper -V host

Dear experts,

I keep loosing one essential disk in my Hyper V virtual machine for some reason and it only comes back after I restart the VM. Why is that happening? When I do mmc --> Disk management --> it shows the disk as not initialized.

What is the best way to tackle this.

Hmmm... check in your BIOS, if it has Intel Virtualization Technology ENABLED. If NOT, then enable it, SAVE BIOS settings and POWER OFF the computer. Power up back and see if problem is resolved.

Also it might be a problem if your disk is NETWORK-based (iSCSI or some network share). MAybe creating paging file at the same location as VHD file could clog-up your link to this network location, making it fail. But this is just a wild guess.

Ok so I give you this situation I had one host first and it had 3 volumes C: D and E. on my VM I only used the D volume. I added another host and created a cluster. Volume E became the cluster storage but it is using Volume D something else. Would you think this may have caused the issue.
Andrej PirmanCommented:
Probably not, but I don't have experience with such a situation.

What's the underlying format of the storage disks? Is it MFT, GPT, dynamic?
And what's the link between them, is it physical network, or is it all on the same host?
