DIsk space provisioning VMWARE

I just used VMWARE Converter and imaged a system. After the image was complete my provisioned disk has too much space and I'd like to lower the amount to 100GB. Every time I attempt to change it goes back to the original size. Type is Thick Provision Lazy, can I lower the amount of disk space and if so how?

There are three ways to do this
Perform a shrink operation from the OS side using shrink feature in windows 2008.

I would probably go with v2v.

It's easier to expand.  Shrinking is more difficult.  Be sure to make a backup before starting.

Should I just delete the new VM and redo PtoV, however this time adjust disk space when I get to that settings within VMware Converter?

You will need to re-convert using VMware Converter, and Shrink it!

Andrew, I just created this new VM from a physical box. I have not done anything on it, the first thing I noticed was the disk space was too large. Can I simply remove the VM and redo a PtoV, however this time within VMware Converter I'll adjust disk space to 100GB. Can I do this? Can I specify the disk provisioning when doing a new PtoV? I thought I saw it when I did the last PtoV but I just left all to default.

Yes, you can change the sizes, and provisioning, when you complete the P2V process, in the options.
