"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Octa Cores are really expensive $2,500+
Dell 910 seems to be the minimum.
There is one available on Amazon for approx $8K

16 cores for 3 VMs is phenomenally excessive, a single quad core would suffice for that unless one of the VMs is hugely CPU intensive. Generally you only use two CPUs to maximise the RAM slots available.

As above you do pay a lot for top of the range CPUs although an E5-2650 is less than £1000, not sure about USA prices, there's a DL380 from HP that takes that CPU also Dell R620 plus others presumably. Still overkill.
