Outlook 2013 Crashes on opening

Outlook 2013 Crashes on opening immediately after the splash screen but runs in safe mode. This just started after a system reboot (Win 7 pro 64 bit).

Any suggestions? Thx.

Check for KB3097877 Security update and remove it.

I've seen this a few times today.

There were a ton of updates that just came out and this was one of them.

how do I find KB3097877 and then remove it?
Control Panel/Programs and Features/View Installed Updates and remove it from there.

It's a Security Update.  It's under the Microsoft Windows section.

Once you remove it be sure to hide it in the Updates so that it doesn't install again.

I figured that out but I don't see KB3097877.

KB3098781 and KB3097996 were installed yesterday.
I'll try uninstalling them and see if Outlook works.

BTW: I ran ScanPst and offcat: both did not help

I looked through all the updates and did not find KB3097877 .

I also disabled all the Outlook addins.

Outlook is still crashing after the splash screen but is not crashing in safe mode.
As soon as I turned on the reading pane in safe mode, it crashed.  I deleted the email that was viewing when Outlook started and it is running fine now in normal mode.

Thanks for your help!
