outlook 2010/exchange and msg files

In our envirornment users have exchange mailboxes associated with their AD accounts. So when they load up Outlook on any machine whilst logged into the network via their AD accounts, it opens up their mailbox. We have some external auditors who need to view a bunch of msg files in Outlook, but they dont need an actual exchange mailbox themselves. They claim when they try and open an individual msg file outlook wont open. Is there anyway to view these files in outlook if you dont have an exchange mailbox, almost like using outlook offline just to view individual files?

>Either configure Outlook with one of the accounts

By accounts do you just mean AD accounts, or assign them a mailbox. where in outlook can you do this when it first loads (and isn't associated with a user).
If they have got a user account then yes assign them a mailbox as a temp solution.
