connect to exchange email and computer now locks up every 15 minutes

Have a client who has several computers that do not belong to the company domain.  As soon as he defines Outlook profile to connect to Exchange (2007), it starts locking his computer after 15 minutes of idle time.  It follows any computer that he sets up Outlook to connect with the company Exchange.  How can we prevent this behavior from occuring?

Could try seeing if its getting stuck on large emails (aka attachments).  Do a sort on his email my message size and see if there are any ridiculous size emails logged in there.  You can also press (ctrl + 6) to expand the folder directory and look under sync issues to see if there are any problems in there.

To check if there are any large emails simply open up the mailbox cleanup utility.  You can do a search for items over a certain size.  This will help you check if that is the issue.

Tell them its a security feature and leave it at that.  If they want email through outlook tell them that it is normal.

I realize this question is closed, but to me "locks up" means it hangs or stops functioning. Do you mean that the computer security was locking the computer so you had to enter a password to unlock it? It will make it easier for future users searching for the same problem.
