I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

With images it's easy. Just set img width to 100%:
img {
    width: 100%;
}

if you want to target only images in certain containers, you can do:
.some-container img {
    width: 100%;
}

For youtube videos, here's a snippet I use that makes them responsive:
/* for iframes with youtube

<div class="scalable scalable-16-9">
  <div class="scalable-content">
    <iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9p09EKVEZos"></iframe>
  </div>
</div>

 */
.scalable {
  overflow: hidden;
}

.scalable iframe {
  height: 100%;
  left: 0;
  position: absolute;
  top: 0;
  width: 100%;
  border: 0;
}

.scalable .scalable-content {
  height: 0;
  position: relative;
}

.scalable-16-9 .scalable-content {
  /* Percentage from 9 divided by 16 for ratio of 16:9. */
  padding-bottom: 56.25%;
}
