EqualLogic PS5000X-Network Interface LED on InActive Control Module

The are no LED lights  on the Network Interfaces on the secondary controller of our EqualLogic PS5000X.  Is this by design or do I have a bad Controller?

SANHQ shows that  it is  healthy.  The battery status is good and NVRAM battery is good.  The  power light is green and the ACT light orange  since it is  the secondary controller.

Most of the EqualLogic models can use NICs from either the active or passive controller if there is no connection on the active controller. To test this, you can unplug a single connection from the active controller and see if a connection on the passive controller lights up.

It's also possible that the PS5000 only supports connections on the active controller.  It's hard for me to check on my phone.

The PS5000 series is well out of support from Dell. I suggest you look at replacing it, or at least get a support contract from Parkplace Technologies.

For replacement arrays, Nimble Storage has much better reliability, performance, and expandability with similar ease of use. Dell is going to kill the EqualLogic line, and that was before the EMC acquisition.
