Onedrive for business as backup

Hello, I am trying to use our onedrive for business for backup but the problem I am having is documents with symbols in there name will not sync to the onedrive it gives an error .... any way around this? what I been doing is using sync toy to sync the documents and desktop to the onedrive folder ... Any better suggestions

Regardless of what tools you try to sync, if the document or folder name contain invalid character, copy will stop.

What I suggest is that you can use a tool, like the one in the link below, which automatically a folder containing those files with invalid character to a zip file and subsequently copy the zip file to onedrive for business. Of course, the folder name shall not contain invalid character.
