Count Change from "C" to "B"

Cell A1 can = "C" or "B" or "P" or "S"

Each Time Cell A1 changes from "C" to "B" I need to increment the value in B1 by 1.

If A1 changes to P or S or from B to C then cell B1 should do nothing. It is only the action of changing from "C" to "B" that I need to count.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try this....

Right click on the Sheet Tab --> View Code --> Paste the code given below into the opened code window --> Close the VBA Editor --> Save your workbook as Excel Macro-Enabled Workbook.
Dim oVal
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Address(0, 0) = "A1" Then
   If LCase(oVal) = "c" And LCase(Target) = "b" Then
      Target.Offset(0, 1) = Target.Offset(0, 1) + 1
   End If
End If
End Sub

Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Address(0, 0) = "A1" Then
   oVal = Target
End If
End Sub

Hi sktneer
I have tested the code but it doesn't appear to work. I have attached the spreadsheet.
Subodh Tiwari (Neeraj)Excel & VBA ExpertCommented:
That is because you placed the code on ThisWorkbook Module not on Sheet1 Module.
I have corrected it and check whether it works for you or not.
