Problems with Input Director on Win 10 machine

I'm not sure what is the best queue to be in so if I'm in the wrong place it is not by design.
After much trial and error and reading I have Input Director 1.2.2 working, almost. I have two machines. A Win 7 desktop and Win 10 laptop that are sharing the same mouse and keyboard using Input Director. I've heard that Input Director will work with the Win 10 O/S.
When I move to the laptop and select an application to load (Windows 2103) when I begin typing I get numbers only, no text.  I've searched for an answer with no luck. Maybe someone from EE has the answer.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

that can happen with laptops because Input Director overlays the numeric keypad.  To switch this off, on your master,
open "Master Preferences" tab
Uncheck "Master keyboard LEDs reflect the status of the directed slave"

thank you so much
as luck would have it this has been done on the laptop (slave) already as well as the desktop (master)

The desktop is a HP TouchSmart running Win 7
The laptop is a HP Envy
We have a wireless network (need any details on that?)
Regarding the TouchSmart. The keyboard and mouse are integrated wirelessly as is the notebook.
One thing I am going to try is to switch the desktop to slave and make the laptop master to see what happens.
Thanks for your continued support

I switched my master to my laptop (Win 10) and slave to my desktop (Win 7). No luck
I'll have to wait until they come out with a Win 10 version.
Thanks - I'll accept you first post as an answer for that would be correct if both machines were O/S compatible. If you happen across a solution or I do then we can post back again.
