File Not Found Exception

C# project / Visual Studio 2015 / Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

I'm having issues with a third-part driver supplied to me for a project. When testing on a client 32 bit machine, the 32 bit driver throws the nefarious
Could not load file or assembly [my.dll] or one of it's dependencies
.
FusLogVw won't install on the client pc saying that the OS is not 64 bit.

No idea how to track this down.
Any ideas?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Did you install the 32 bit version of the driver on the client computer? If you do not have it, ask your third party vendor for a 32 bit version.

Make sure the the Target CPU is set to AnyCPU in your project's properties. If it is compiled for x64, then the framework looks for the 64 bit version of the dlls and gives you the error because it does not find one.

If this is still not solved, you can download the dependency Walker application from the below link and open your binary in it to see which of its dependency is missing. This has helped me previously to identify the missing components.

It only runs on 64 bit operating systems - not compatible with your clients PC.

Ask your third party supplier if they have a 32 bit version for the OP system (you haven't specified just what, it could be WinXP) they can let you have.  Or inform your client they do not have a compatible OP system, it must be 64 bit.

Hi Kurt,

Request you to please clarify which comment helped you resolve the issue.
As Andy mentioned it is bit confusing given your last comment.
I suggest, in case multiple comments helping you to solve your problem, please accept all of them and allow the points to be split.

Thanks,

Dependeny Viewer (Depend.exe) worked on the 32 bit machine. Dependency Viewer helped locate the missing dlls.
The list of missing dlls is irrelevant
Depends is also the name of brand of adult diaper, thus the leaks pun.
