Documents folder redirection not working

hi, ive had redirection working for a few years now and suddenly it just stopped working. I conformed policy settings were correct, even disabled that policy and created a new one and everything BUT the "documents" folder gets redirected. no matter what setting I change, it does not get applied.

RSOP shows favorites and downloads folder being redifected

desktop is redirected but doesn't show there for whatever reason..

gpresult /r shows the policy being applied to the user successfully.

only 2 events on the event viewer regarding folder redirection and they are for favorites and downloads folder confirmation that is being redirected successfully. no other messages or errors.

ive tried redirecting to  users home, users profile and to the path where it was originally, which is the same path desktop and favorites use.  \\domain\sharefolder\user

this is affecting windows 7/8/10/2012r2 systems
what could be causing this not to work?

My suggestion is to create a new user, new document folder, etc. and also create a new GPO that only addresses the document folder redirection. In essence, you're creating an untouched, new config for a test user.

Do you get the same failed result or does it work? What does RSOP and gpresult /r say?

Since the documents folder redirection will be the only policy in the GPO applied to the user, you will see it succeed or fail. There shouldn't be any partial success.

Let me know how that goes.
