User Profile Disk Backup

I have been using Google to find guidelines regarding how to backup User Profile Disks(VHDX) on a file server
but either the answer is so simple that no one has asked the question or I there is something wrong with me/google :)

is the answer : Volume Shadow Copy and that’s it

Anyone have experience with UDP Backup and recovery ?

Best Regards,
Valdi Hafdal

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

UPD are vhd/vhdx files on the operating system so any vss aware backup will work.
