Outlook 2010 freezing solid every so often

Setup: Windows 7 Enterprise, 64 bit O/S, Office 2010 SP2, most updates applied
Outlook 2010 connecting to Exchange 2010.
A/V: Sophos Corporate Edition
Main Software: GoldMine Premium Edition

Symptoms: Randomly Outlook freezes and cannot even use the Task Manager to kill it, needs hard reboot.
Troubleshooting done so far:
- Recreated the local mail profile
- Unchecked "Cached Mode"

Did you re-install KB3097877, shut down (power off) and start up again?   See if that helps.

Sorry, wrong info, the O/S is 32 bit, and Office is 32 bit, that probably changes the KB.

Look up the KB and see if it applies to 32-bit. I do not usually look as I have not used a 32-bit operating system in nearly a decade.

OK, I found the pertinent KB (same # BTW), applied it, rebooted, now I'll have to wait a few days to see if that fixed it. Thanks for the tip.

The user was off Friday, so she's testing it today.

Now is the second day the user is using her Outlook, today she got another error, can't block Junk emails see attached.

Did you try rebuilding the OST file (delete and re-create)?  That is what the error infers.

I went to Control Panel, Mail and removed the profile, then reloaded Outlook, but the error is still there, with Cached Mode unchecked. So that didn't solve the problem.

The error says you have to use Cached Mode and I think that is correct.

This is still not solved, I have installed Office 2013, that created other problems, I had to revert back to 2010, so we're back to square one.

Outlook (and Office) are very solid tools. If nothing has worked (and you say nothing has worked), then you are probably at the point of a Windows 7 Repair Install with the Windows 7 DVD, or more preferably,  back up and rebuild the computer.
