Exch 2013 DAG network question

I have setup a dag between 2 exch 2013 servers. 1 is at the main site and the other 1 is at the DR site which is on a different subnet but on the same domain.
My question is that when Is setup the DAG, I added an IP address for the DAG on the main site network and then I also added one for the DR site IP address.. Do I really need the second IP address assigned to the DAG for the remote site?
Reason I am asking is that the DAG and dbs copies all seem to be working fine but when I run the cluster mgr and run the Validate configuration it says that the second ip for the remote site that I added is not doing anything.. So I guess I could remove this IP?
I have the replication of the dbs going on separate IPs from the regular network traffic like it should be.

If you're on 2013 SP1 CU4 or higher you don't need to assign an IP to the DAG.  Check this article:

I manage a DAG for one of my clients stretched between two data centers, and the assigned IP is  Works flawlessly and there is no CNO to deal with.
