Outlook 2010 search function

Users on Win7 64 bit and users on Server 2012 terminal servers - Outlook search stopped working for some users.  It doesn't work for me or a few others on Win7 64 bit running Outlook on our PCs.  Terminal server users - some the search function doesn't work, some it does.  For those that it doesn't work, it seemed to quit about the same time.
No OS updates run.
No Office updates run.
We're not running in cached mode.
I tried all the MS things in one of their KB articles.  No luck, at all.

I'm actually wondering if I need to rebuild the problem user's mail stores on the Exchange server.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hello Big,

Enable “Cached Exchange Mode” and see the results because in disabled mode, whenever your enter a query to pull up any data, Outlook have to pass that particular trigger through the entire Exchange server. That is why, sometimes it takes too much time to display results or sometimes does not show anything at all.

Feel free to ask further!!!

In Non-Cached Mode the Exchange Search index is used on the server. If it cannot find anything reliable for some mailboxes, then yes, you'll have to rebuild the index, as described at https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee633475(v=exchg.150).aspx
