setting up hp procurve

Hi

Im a little confused with setting up 3 hp switches, there 24 port switchs. I have vlans configured on switch one. I understand truncking from switch 1 to switch 2, however a little confused of getting data to switch 3. Currently port 24 on switch 1 and 2 are tagged as trunck.

Thanks in advance

how do I create a trunk to switch 3?

Don JohnstonInstructorCommented:
First off, I'm guessing that you mean a link which is carrying multiple VLANs, right? In HP terminology, this is not called a trunk.  A trunk is a number of links that are aggregated into a single, virtual link.

But to carry multiple VLANs over a link (we'll use port 2), you would "tag" the VLANs that you want to send/receive over the link.

Like this:
vlan 8
 tagged 2
vlan 20
 tagged 2
vlan 30
 tagged 2

The native VLAN is not tagged, so:
vlan 1
 untagged 2
