Citrix Persentation Server 4.5 PNAgent

Hi, We have a farm of Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 with 4 windows 2003 servers, we were able to connect via Citrix Receiver (latest version) using this link http://server.name/Citrix/PNAgent/config.xml, it's been working for a while but since last week it stopped working and give this error "Invalid Provisioning file used for Receiver configuration", there were nothing changed or update on any of the servers. Does anyone has any ideas how to resolve this?

@Sekar, yes I did check that article but my error message was "Invalid Provisioning file used for Receiver configuration" We have a newer Citrix environment version 7.6 and it work just fine,we had these two old and new environments setup in Citrix Receiver, the older one (presentation server 4.5) was working for a while and suddenly it stopped working. I have no idea why.

What version of Web Interface are you running?
What version of the Receiver are you running that is getting the error?

The web interface that came with Presentation Server 4.5 and Citrix Receiver 3 and 4. we using the new Citrix Receiver so we can have users connect to both old and new enviroments, both were working and the suddenly the old config.xml produce this error "Invalid Provisioning file used for Receiver configuration" and not other messages, could not find anything wrong on the Citrix Server.

Ok. that definitely explains it.

You need to build new Web Interface 5.4 servers -- the newer clients have a number of known issues with older versions of WI, (even 5.3).

You can reasonably support both 4.5 & newer with WI 5.4 ( I am currently doing that myself).

Once you can get rid of the 4.5, you can look at moving to StoreFront.

Can I just install on top of the older version and keep the existing sites?

Yes you just run exe to upgrade. Better take a backup of inetpub folder to take a backup of webinterface.conf. Once upgrade you can replace the conf file for your site customization.

You can.. just be careful.. sometimes the WI 5.4 upgrade will blow away the sites, and you will have to recreate them. Also, depending on how old your existing WI version is, it may not support the upgrade at all.

And finally, the newer version has considerably more options than the older versions, so read through them carefully.
