cannot copy large file inside VHD

Try to copy a VHD file (mounted under extra drive) previously created with Window 7 into my local HDD. However, it always disconnect in the middle of file and the whole virtual disk closed automatically. However, the remote drive is still mounted on my Window.

Any idea ?

You need to be clearer: are you copying the entire VHD file from one location to another (in which case the recommendation is to try using
xcopy /j

or are you copying a large file that's located inside a mounted VHD?

I have tried xcopy /j but doesn't help...

Thanks for coming back to close the question, but both Emma Taylor's link and my response suggested to use "xcopy /j" for copying VHDs, but you had indicated that your problem was copying large files within a mounted VHD.

It seems that you may have found a solution, but what was it? It would help other people who come to Experts Exchange looking for answers if you could clarify.

Guessing my problem is h/w issue . Try to run 'chdisk' and it run for few days without any progress..
