display form elements inline

In cakephp how do i display form elements side by side?
They display vertically like this .

   echo $this->Form->input('a',  array('label'=>' ','type'=>'number',
                         'style' => 'width: 50px; height: 30px;','value'=>$test['NumeracyStudent']['a2'] ));
   echo $this->Form->input('b',  array('label'=>' ','type'=>'number',
                         'style' => 'width: 50px; height: 30px;','value'=>$test['NumeracyStudent']['a2'] ));

Maybe issue is each input might have a container which acts as block element which prevent it coming inline. You need to provide display:inline-block to its parent container/element.

Hope that will work! If you can provide the cakephp output of above code, we can solve it!
