I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Optoma doesn't say anything to me, Infocus I have seen sometimes.

The technique is more or less the same...
The features you have to fit to your needs, FullHD is a standard for TV (netherless a lie), 3d ok, if you find a source and like glasses, speakers forget, use your own for theatre feeling)...

More important:
Connectors: Have a look what you wan to connect, HDMI is standard, think about speakers and other devices and also internet TV is a topic
The brightness, 2500 ANSI Lumen should be the minimum, as more bright are your rooms (colour, sunlight)  as more you need, as larger the picture on the wall as more you need.
Energy consumption: 200 W x 10h = 2KWh,over a year = 700 KWh
Bulb lifetime: 10h a day = 3650h a year until you have to replace the bulb.

So, depended on the energy and bulb lifetime, it can be a very expensive hobby.
To find the right device, calculate the usage and calculate the costs.
Technique may change fast, so find a compromise.

My television does everything, has 1,20 m and a possible lifetime may be around 5 years. It takes  around 60 Watts. Just as comparison.
