How do you make an account a local Admin of servers via GPO?
My understanding with GPO is that there is Restricted Groups and Preferences. If added via Preferences, does that mean I'd have to logon to each server with the AD account in order for the Preferences account to register as a local admin?
Or does the server simply have to GPupdate without anyone logging in for it to pick up the new account in GP Preferences recognizing it as an Admin?
I am doing this to add a new service account as a local admin on servers that our Backup software will run against.
