asked on

removing self-signed root certificates on Dell aptops/desktops

Does anyone know of a simple or easy way to identify and remove the Dell self signed root certificate?
http://www.pcworld.com/article/3007899/security/dell-installs-self-signed-root-certificate-on-laptops-endangering-users-privacy.html

Is there a way to use group policy to do this, otherwise, I will have to do this manually if not.

You have to run an uninstaller which Dell released today, you can find it here. You should be able to use the "run program these programs at logon" to execute this without needing to run it on every system manually.

Thanks for that info, do you have the website so I can read more about it before I run the file.
Also, if I run that using GP, will that cause any issues if the cert is NOT installed on a PC, as for the most part,
I don't have those installed, only maybe on 2 or 3 machines at most.

The only direct link I have been able to find from Dell is embedded in the doc file on that page.
