Video Driver Needed

I have a computer with an Intel D845GEBV2 motherboard. I am setting it up with Windows 7 for a family with little money but in need of a computer for their school age children. Where can I get a video and audio driver for this motherboard that I can make work with Windows 7. All I can find is XP drivers.

Thank you!

XP drivers actually might work.  It looks like this board came out in August 2002, so I think your options are limited.  Is this Windows 7 x64 or x86?  x86 might be better for a system of this vintage.

It is x86. I tried installing the XP drivers even using compatibility mode. The display adapter shows up in the Device Manager list but with the Yellow triangle indicating and error. When I click to update the driver I immediately get a window telling me to restart the PC so changes will take effect. When I restart Windows installs drivers for new hardware, the result is that the drivers were installed successfully but when I go back to Device Manager I see the same thing and the process starts all over again.

This site may help you find drivers for that motherboard.

I did not click on the Update Drivers link, since this is not your PC.  But I note there seems to be problems with some of the other links.

This is a very old motherboard.
Can't you look for a cheap 2nd hand AGP graphic board, and maybe a PCI soundcard? What is the problem with the default driver of Windows 7?

Or even a better and cheaper solution would be to install Linux. There are still many distro's that will work without any problems on that board, an they are mostly free, so they wouldn't even have to pay for Windows 7.

For Win 7 you're probably out of luck with the 845E but it's worth trying  this http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect
You could try Googling the PCI DEV ids with this: http://rh-software.com/

But it's probably a losing battle.

Here's one for $22 from ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Matrox-G450-32MB-Dual-DVI-VGA-Monitors-Windows7-PCI-Video-Card-Drivers-Adapter-/371491834000?hash=item567ea38890:g:BOMAAOSwHnFV5Aof

Maybe try Craigslist?  Sometimes people will part out their PC.

None of the suggestions from the experts were effective and I finally found the driver on my own.
