KVM Switchbox for a laptop & desktop?

I am looking for a solution that would allow a laptop and a desktop to be used by the same keyboard, mouse & dual monitors. I know a simple KVM switchbox works with switching between desktops, but I've never heard of something that would allow switching between desktop & laptop...any ideas?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Why should there be any difference between a desktop and a laptop when you use a KVM switchbox? You should just make sure you have the connections on the laptop that connect to the KVM.
