How can i monitor Network Security cameras

Hi guys,

I have been hit with the task of setting up cameras for several small businesses. We're considering using Mobotix outdoor cameras. My question to you guys is what software can I use or what model will be best to monitor these cameras? I want to be able to bill monthly (sort of like Managed services) for monitoring. Any Ideas???

I recently installed security cameras for a small business client and am using the Blue Iris software for the system:

The client and I have been very pleased with Blue Iris (the software and the support). I don't know if it will do everything you want, but I think it's worth putting on your short list. I just checked the Add Camera feature to see if Mobotix is supported — it is. Here's the portion of the drop-down showing it (BI supports a ton of camera manufacturers and models):

Depending on your needs D-Link may be worth looking at.

I also recalled there is a iSpy (open source) that uses your home computers and webcams to detect and record movement and sound. Cameras can then be scheduled to run at any time of day and either continuously record or record on motion detection. It serves sort of neighborhood watch software, as it can backup files to the cloud, send alerts with frame grabs to mobile phones and email addresses and has advanced motion detection functions. In case this is of interest as well

Yes, iSpy is very good, and it even has a 64-bit edition. The last version of it that I used is v.6.1.9.0, dated 17-May-2014 (after that, I switched to Blue Iris). I still have it on my system and can run some tests if you'd like. I see from the website that they're now up to v6.4.7.0, dated 30-Nov-2015, so it surely has more features than the one on my system.
