Try disabling your antivirus program to see if it changes something.<br />

If a project/solution is complex, your antivirus program needs to check all the files before the compiler can use them. Some antivirus programs will go a more complete check when you are connected to the outside world than when you are working locally.<br />

I had that problems a few months ago. Took 2 to 3 minutes to compile very simple projects, no matter how I configured the AV program. I simply changed the AV and compilations went down to normal 5 to 10 seconds.

I am experiencing extremely slow behavior in Visual Studio when connected to the network. VS comes up slow and build time is super slow - probably about 10-15 minutes whereas its normally 10 seconds roughly. When unplugging the network cable, it flies like it should.<br />

The files are not linked to any version control manager in any way. Is there a way to configure VS to not speak with the network?<br />
