Mac Mini (Mid 2011) - AirDrop not in Finder
I have Mac Mini (Mid 2011) hosting OS X 10.10.5 4 GB RAM
Apple Support [https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203106] reports
“AirDrop system requirements…
Mac Mini (Mid 2010 or newer”
AirDrop not in finder - Finder…File…New Finder Window
Go AirDrop returns AirDrop Window
Where are AirDrop options (e.g. ‘Allow me to be discovered…)?

Did these steps already - WIFi/Bluetooth on, clicked Menu Bar Go...AirDrop
Issue remains AirDrop window does not offer options such as 'Allow me to be discovered...'
Woks OK on 1 Mac Mini (non-discoverable), not on other - all on same WiFi. Both OS X 10.10.5
Bluetooth devices (TrackPads, Mice,Keyboards) less than 3' apart, no problem w/data entry.

Can you post a screen shot of the window you do get? I am attaching a screenshot of what I get.

No change with Bluetooth off (after I remembered I had to connect wireless peripherals) .
As I was planning to upgrade to El Capitan, I will accept your help & use other options such as dropbox/public folder and hope the upgrade works.

Turn on and set up AirDrop
On Mac computers:
1. Choose Go > AirDrop from the menu bar in the Finder. An AirDrop window opens. If Bluetooth or Wi-Fi is turned off, you'll see a button to turn it on. AirDrop turns on automatically when Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are on.
2. To receive files from everyone instead of only those in your Contacts app, you can use the “Allow me to be discovered by” setting at the bottom of the AirDrop window.
