Acer Veriton L4618g will not start, I only get the fan to cycle for a second

Hello,  I have an Acer desktop (Veriton L4618g) and it will not start.  The fan will cycle for a second when you push the power button and then does nothing more.

I tried a different power supply/cord from a different (same exact) computer but it did not work.

Any ideas how to trouble shoot this unit?

I ended up switching hard drives with another computer so the user could get up and running but wanted to make sure I get this other unit running too.

Thanks, I did change PSU and it did not work.  It sounds like the fan when it cycles for a second, it may be the system itself, not sure.  Didn't know if the Acer behaves different then most systems.  Typically I find the MB has some beeps if it has problems.

Removed everythings, took battery out, pressed power button for 1 min.  Plugged in and tried to get something to start, no response from system at all.

This system has the power supply on the power cord.  I have tried different power cords that work on other machines.

It appears the motherboard is dead.
