A couple of years ago, I was able to install VB6 on Windows 7. Are you sure you are running the installation as an administrator?<br />

You could also create a virtual machine on your PC to host an older OS just for VB6.

As suggested I downloaded visual studio and installed it.<br />
However I can still not open a .vbp project.

Visual Studio .Net is not compatible with VB6 projects. Some &quot;code conversion&quot; is possible but I haven't seen any project fully and correctly converted. this is just impossible.
