What is the best way to balance this server load?
Hello,
I have a problem I am trying to solve. We have a database system called FileMaker that we use internally. We have 2 main office locations in different cities that are connected via VPN which the FileMaker syncs both DBs through.
In FileMaker I have an option to specify the name of the server when the user opens the program. It goes down a list until it finds an active server. I would like to place in that list something like database.company.com and have it resolve to either the server in Office A or the server in Office B depending on where the user is.
I have a domain controller in both locations and offices are in subnets that belong to different AD sites. The FileMaker program doesn't appear to have the solution as it only looks up the list based on whats on top first.
Ideas?
