ShadowProtect VM

Dear All

I am backing up the OS volume on my severe using shadow protect, I would like to test the system by taking the backup and running it om my VM workstation but I don't know how to. Please could you assist me achieve the testing?

Use the shadowprotect recovery environment boot iso on a new VM, point it at the share with the backups and restore.

If you are going to simulate a crash scenario then yes, you need to create a recovery boot media, start from it a bare VM and restore from backup. Most possibly you would need to use hardware independent restore from Shadow Protect to make the system boot on new hardware.
