Internet Connection issues on one unit
Hi Experts,
I have a situation that has me baffled.
I have a client that has one particular computer on her system that looses connection to the internet. It is connected to the network via Ethernet cable. I can connect other units to the router and not have any problems. the wireless part works without issue and I can hook up any number of wireless devices. they all have good speed test results but the Desktop has very poor to no connection.
So here is a list of what I have done:
Replaced the router - worked well for about 10 minutes.
Turned off the Firewall and the Antivirus
Run netsh winsock reset then reboot - no effect
run ipconfig /flushdns - no effect
added a wireless card - no effect
put in a static IP - no effect
brought the computer into my shop - tested perfectly
brought the router into my shop - tested perfectly
Reset Internet explorer
tried Google Chrome - Same issue
Reset the router's LAN address - no effect
Things I have noticed:
Connecting to the router is even slow.
I can remote into the affected computer with little to no trouble.
When I plug the computer directly into the Modem I have no trouble connecting the internet.
She is running a:
Windows 7 Home Premium
intel dual core CPU @ 3.2ghz
4 GB RAM
Panda AV
I really am at a loss.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks
Pat

Thanks for the tip, I will try creating a new account tomorrow. As for the ISP, it seems to work just fine when the affected computer is connected directly. Also, all of the other devices work just fine (either connected directly or wireless).

Okay,
Sorry about the delay. I tried creating a new user account on the afflicted computer and the result is the same am still not able to connect properly to the Internet. All of the other units will connect as this one does not seem to want to behave.

I found a partial solution to the issue. It was in the NDIS adapter for panda antivirus. Once I disabled that I was able to connect to the Internet reasonably well. There is still quite a leg time from the time Internet Explorer finishes loading on till the webpage actually finishes loading (about 20 seconds). This was after I put a new network card in. I took out the new network card and tried the Internet are the old network card and the results with the same.
Thank you for your assistance.

On the problem computer, consider making a new, test Windows User Profile (Account), logging into the new Windows account and trying internet in the new account.
Is it possible there is an issue with the ISP (the ISP's modem)?
