IPv4 forward slash
Hi Experts,
what does the forward slash after an IPv4 address mean? I know it has something to do with the subnet mask. I believe it is an indicator to say this is subnet 'A' and this is subnet 'B' but surely you don't need it tagged as you can easily see If the subnet is different... because it will be a different range?
also I noticed that almost all these numbers are double digit and tend to fairly large? I haven't seen /1 or /2 for example.
Example 192.168.245.10/21
can someone put it in black and white if possible for me please?
